Jah Mystic – Marching To Zion

On every 10" vinyl release so far on CounterAction Soundz, the AA Side has always been occupied by the late hour, instrumental, dark and heavy DUB sounds of Jah Mystic!

It is a project, which like many other heavy dub productions relies on the foundation of the instrumentation, a musical duo, the Drum and the Bass. It is an organic process. It all starts by a live jam during which the riddims are built and it progresses naturally from there in the studio.

At the heart of the mystical meditative sounds is Richi Rootz (R.I.P.) playing live bass alongside I-mitri on the drums and additional instruments. Also vital in shaping the minor harmonies and deep vibes is the lead guitar and riffs provided by Matt Preston otherwise known as electronic producer Phaeleh.

Direct references to Jah Shaka's early albums alongside the Mad Professor can be heard coming through the mix techniques and production style. As well as clear audible links to Adrian Sherwood and the 80’s and early 90's sound of the UK Dub scene this time fused with modern Digi-dub aesthetics!

The sounds of Jah Mystic have been played by many a sound system around the world and are now finally available digitally and on CD as an 18-track instrumental dub album!
