Not long after our latest successful 12” vinyl (COUNT007) introduced Rainbow Coalition to the world, CounterAction is proud to present I-mitri’s first “vocal & dub” album with Rainbow Coalition on riddim duties.
Upright & Splendid was written and recorded between the Netherlands and Leicester, UK, mixed and produced by I-Mitri in the CounterAction studio.
The album goes through some of the most distinct styles of UK Dub whilst remaining very original, with strong songwriting and an over all conscious lyrical message! It features many live elements alongside the digital, smoothly blending modern roots with classic analog dub mixing. The quality of production is consciously sound system minded with heavy dub versions.

Rainbow Coalition.
A musical collaboration that started when I-mitri (CounterAction/Original Soundz, AMP Outernational) met Tim (Slimmah Sound/Roots Tribe) on the road while gigging. This album represents a body of work that came about as a result of the friendship that developed over the years since then.

I-mitri.
An original member of AMP Outernational (first releasing music around 1998 under the name Atiko Minus) and part of the Dubwise HiFi collective out of Greece, I-mitri is based in Leicester, UK. Linked with dub legends Vibronics with whom he often gigs and records, I-mitri is part of the vibrant sound system scene in Leicester since 2001 where he also promotes dances and runs the weekly radio show United Nations Of Dub (on community and student FM radio station DemonFM). Coming musically together with Richi Rootz in 2006, saw them founding the CounterAction Soundz label. He also fronts the CounterAction live band. He sings, mixes, produces and records percussion and drums for, amongst many others, labels: CounterAction Soundz, AMP Outernational, Dub Providers (Nuff Powa), Scoops Records, Roots Youths, Rasheda Lioness Music, and Dreadwise Music. He's voiced tunes for (most notably) Vibronics, Jahfree, Imperial Sound Army, Badaboom HiFi, Sub Foundation, Phaeleh, AMP Outernational, Dubateers, and CounterAction Warriors. He's had the opportunity to play sing and select on Jah Tubby's, Iration Steppas, King Earthquake, Mungo’s HiFi, Blackboard Jungle and many other sound systems across Europe and his songs/productions have been played by David Rodigan, Jah Tubbys, Iration Steppas, Aba Shanti I, Channel One, Jah Voice and Hytal Bosrah amongst many others!
Co-founder and co-director of the world’s first and biggest indoor reggae & dub sound system festival UNITED NATIONS OF DUB WEEKENDER (established in 2013), I-mitri often tours the world showcasing the best of roots and culture, on the microphone and through vinyl&digital selection, live mix and FX, as usual inna sound system style!
